These very well executed ads for Calgary Farmer’s Market made me smile. Love the idea! The campaign was designed as a compliment to the ‘Open all summer’ series. How do you maintain people’s interest in a farmers’ market during the cold days of Alberta’s winter?
The Calgary Farmers’ Market is taking a humorous approach with a series of radio spots. Each of the three ads uses a word association quiz, and no matter what winter word the announcer uses, the response is always something sold at the Calgary Farmers’ Market – from blueberries to crepes. Each ad ends with: “When you think winter, think Calgary Farmers’ Market.”
The campaign, from Calgary’s WAX, also uses billboards featuring summer creatures like a snail, a worm and a caterpillar. To emphasize the fresh offerings of the market even in winter, each creature is on a fresh piece of fruit though it is also prepared for winter. The worm, for example, is wearing a toque and carries a ski and pole in its mouth.
The ads launched last week and continue into 2009.

Farmers’ Market Fresh in Marketing Magazine

My daily travel in Metro London and few journies around the world made me fall in love with advertising. The punch, the energy and the wackiness of their commercials thrilled me. There’s always something new out there grabbing my attention. Whether it’s a campaign or crazy technology that draws me in. My source of inspiration today is from city of Belgrade:  Ad compaign “For beautiful city [Clean after your dog]” which is very very simple but very create at the same time.

Yes, yes and yes I do. Does that mean that other people do the same, no? That’s why this provoking ad compaign was launched by city of Belgrade Municipal corporation to keep the city clean. All of us have noticed in front of your yard that there have been some dogs visiting it. When I saw them then first thought comes to my mind, If I see them let their dogs go to the bathroom in my yard I usually stick my head out and ask where they live and tell them I have 2 very large dogs and I just wanted to visit their yard that way I don’t have to pick theirs and mine. They never really know what to say. Someone actually came back with a bag and cleaned it up. I think they got the point. What ever happened to being a good neighbor?

Ads are always the biggest source of inpiration for designers and consumers, but Printed ads are awesome which we found everywhere on road, buses, trains, subways, bus station, news papers & everywhere. They always have to deliver a message in a way that gets our attention, they need to make sure people will read them and most importantly, remember them. We can say that typography plays a big role in this concept of “getting attention” and “making people want to read”, and that happens in print, web design, graphic design and everything in between.

Choosing the proper type for a project is really important since we need to think about the message we want to communicate, the “consumer” we want to reach and the tone we want to impress. We can have serious type for a serious message and funny type for something more humorous. Combining the right typography with nice elements, colors and shapes will get you a really nice result.
